Entertaiment is a broad category of activities that provide enjoyment. Entertainment can be personal, like a private concert for two, or shared, as in a dinner party accompanied by music and dance, or it can take the form of competitions that are staged for thousands or even the entire global population. Entertainment can inspire re-tellings in different media, such as the story of Scheherazade from the Persian professional storytelling tradition which inspired Rimsky-Korsakov and others to compose orchestral works, directors to make films and games to create innovative new video entertainment.
